Litigation attorney, Seema Ali, obtained a jury verdict dismissing all remaining claims against G&I clients, the Town of Greece and the Greece Police Department. In the case of Catalano v. Town of Greece, Monroe County Supreme Court, the plaintiffs alleged that they were subjected to excessive force at the hands of Greece police officers following an incident involving a Greece Town Mall security officer. The jury determined otherwise and found that the officers used only that degree of physical force necessary in order to lawfully arrest the plaintiffs for their own criminal conduct. "The plaintiffs' other claims for false arrest, malicious prosecution and violation of civil rights were dismissed prior to the trial because the officers had probable cause to make the arrests," said Ali, "and the existence of probable cause clearly had an impact upon the jury."
